Russ Jesinger Automobile – AI Fundamentals for Car Dealership Managers

Starting point

Russ Jesinger Automobile employs almost 500 people across six locations and sells vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, AMG, smart and BYD. On June 30, 2026, more than 30 managers from the group took part in an AI fundamentals training.

Anyone leading a team needs to be able to judge where AI helps in their own area. Alongside the fundamentals, the focus was therefore on tasks that come up every day at a dealership: in the workshop, in customer contact, in recruiting and in organization.

Solution

The training combined AI fundamentals with live demos based on dealership scenarios. It started with how large language models (LLMs) work and which use cases exist in mid-sized companies. Then it got concrete: every demo ran live in front of the participants, using tasks from their own business instead of generic examples.

Beyond working with text, the training showed what AI can do with spreadsheets, images, videos and websites.

Content

  • Fundamentals: how LLMs work, typical use cases in mid-sized companies
  • Five dealership scenarios, live: explaining repair costs clearly to customers, writing a job ad for automotive mechatronics technicians, preparing information on EV subsidies, structuring a meeting, answering a complaint
  • Excel: AI as a formula tutor, plus uploading a file and getting an edited file back, using vehicle inventory per location as the example
  • Images and video: generating a drone flight from an aerial photo, placing a vehicle in a new setting, designing an event poster
  • Landing page by prompt: creating a web page from a description alone

Result & Impact

  • More than 30 managers with a shared AI foundation, across a group with almost 500 employees and six locations
  • Five scenarios from the workshop, customer contact, HR and organization that can be reproduced without programming skills
  • Areas of application beyond text shown live: Excel, images, video and web
  • A basis for identifying their own use cases in each area
